MSD BOARD

The MSD Board is a group of eight citizens appointed to represent our customers' interests. The board members are appointed by the Metro Mayor. 

The eight members of the Board represent different State Senatorial Districts in Louisville and Jefferson County, ensuring broad-based representation for the entire community. Not more than five members of the Board can be of one political party. All members serve three-year, staggered terms, and can be reappointed.  MSD Board meetings are normally scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m. at MSD's main office building at 700 West Liberty Street. Customers and anyone else interested are always welcome to attend.

Members of the public are welcome to attend open meetings of the Board in accordance with the Board Policy approved on February 27, 2012, a copy of which can be found here.

MSD Board Committees and Functions

The MSD Board has established the following standing committees: Policy Committee, Finance Committee, Audit Committee, and Personnel Committee. Other special committees can be established by the Board Chair as may be necessary. The Board Chair appoints all committee members and the chairmen of each committee. • The Policy Committee of the MSD Board shall review and recommend to the full Board all proposed Board policies, and any amendments to existing Board policies, which are not the function of the Personnel, Finance or Audit Committees of the MSD Board.
