Louisville Metro
experienced its worst flooding since the Flood of 1997. Up to 10
inches of rain fell in many neighborhoods in our community.
Although major
improvements to our drainage system and the construction of
large flood storage basins protected thousands of homes from
flooding this weekend, MSD still received over 1,000 customer
calls related to flooding and sewer backups.
In an effort to
assist our customers in the aftermath of this severe event, MSD
is offering financial assistance up to $500 per customer
account.
Although this
flooding event exceeded the limits of our sewer and drainage
system, MSD believes it is our civic duty, as a service
provider, to assist our customers through this disaster.
Customers who
suffered damages will be required to submit copies of damage
claims; cleaning and sanitizing expenses; service bills, etc. to
MSD for verification. MSD will then process reimbursement checks
up to $500 per claim.
