The Ohio River is predicted to reach 25.3 feet, on the Upper Gauge and 55.9 on the Lower Gauge by Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 8:00 A.M.

MSD will begin erecting floodwall closures at Tenth and Main Streets and 27th Street at McAlpine Locks this afternoon, Tuesday, March 18.

Currently, MSD is planning to place Western Flood Plumping Station in service within the next several hours along with Fourth Street and 34th Street. If projections continue, the following flood pumping stations will be placed into operation over the next few days:

  • Lower Mill Creek (Valley Station)
  • Upper Mill Creek (Pleasure Ridge)
  • Pond Creek (Valley Station)
  • Riverport (Pleasure Ridge)
  • Beargrass Creek (Butchertown)

Louisville Metro Public Works closes roads in conjunction with incrementally rising river levels. Currently there are no road closures in the Louisville Metro area.
