MSD Celebrates
Achievements of the Morris Forman Wastewater Treatment Plant
MSD will celebrate
the Golden Anniversary of the Morris Forman Wastewater Treatment
Plant (MFWTP). A celebration ceremony will be held at the
facility on May 23, 2008 (11am – 1pm) to recognize the
achievements of the plant. One recent achievement is that the
MFWTP has earned the Gold Peak Performance Award for its
operation in 2007. The award is given by the National
Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) given to honor
treatment works that have achieved 100 percent compliance with
their National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)
permit for an entire calendar year.
“The Louisville and
Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District is an outstanding
example of environmental efforts. NACWA is honored to showcase
the achievements of MSD’s and our nation’s public wastewater
utilities through the Peak Performance Awards Program.” Ken
Kirk, NACWA’s Executive Director.
