Baby Saved By MSD Crew
On October 14, an MSD
crew was working at 6505 Montego Bay Road. The crew consisted of
John Matthews, Jeremy Pierson and Kenny Gibson.
While unloading their
tools, they heard screams from a woman close by. The woman was
running from her home with an 18-month old baby in her arms.
Both Kenny and Jeremy ran to the woman and they found the baby
choking and gasping for breath.
Kenny took control of
the woman, while Jeremy performed the infant Heimlich Maneuver.
After three strikes to the back, the food cleared and the baby
began breathing on his own.
All MSD employees
receive regular safety and first aid training. This just proves
the value of such training.
I say it often. I
believe the vast majority of MSD’s 600 employees are some of the
most dedicated public servants in Louisville Metro. Kenny,
Jeremy and John are living proof.
All of us at MSD are
very proud of their action. I consider them heroes. They will be
on the same jobsite today, 6506 Montego Bay Road, if you would
like to speak with them.
Thank you.
