Information
on Construction Bids
and Requests for Proposals/Qualifications
Background
MSD posts
its Requests For Proposals (RFP), Requests For Qualifications (RFQ),
construction bids and other bid documents on the
web periodically.
Major projects may also be advertised in the
Courier- Journal and Louisville Defender newspapers, but smaller projects
(under $250,000) may only be posted on the
web. Information on each
project will be presented with links to the actual advertisements and/or
bid documents so they can be downloaded or viewed. Each project will
be posted when bid documents are available and will remain posted to
meet MSD procurement regulations and through the bid opening date.
Since there are
often addenums or updates to these documents, MSD will be asking each
prospective bidder or respondent to register with MSD (using their e-mail
address and a password) before they view or download the documents.
MSD's privacy notice is available for your information. MSD will also
post addendums or updates to its bid documents/RFPs/RFQs on the
web
as well.
MSD will use your
e-mail address to send notification that an addendum is available. However,
e-mail is not fool-proof, so it is the prospective
bidder or respondents responsibility to visit the Current Construction
Bids and RFPs/RFQs page often to determine if there is an addendum or
update to their bid documents, RFP or RFQ.
Prequalified Contractors
Throughout the year MSD often
requires the services of various contractors to supplement and assist
its own forces in various construction projects estimated to cost under
$250,000. MSD prequalifies contractors to perform all types of construction
work throughout Jefferson County (structural, mechanical, drainage,
pipe work, etc.) and then issues construction work orders through a
competitive bid process.
