Lake of the Woods WTP Elimination Project

Customer Service: (502) 587-0603Report as of Wednesday, July 02, 2008

Project Description

This project consists of the construction of an interceptor to the proposed Billtown Road Interceptor.

Need

The existing MSD Lake of the Woods Wastewater Treatment Plant in the South Chenoweth Run Basin has difficulty in consistently meeting the discharge requirements. The elimination of this plant would not only improve the water quality in the receiving stream but also result in savings in operation and maintenace costs to MSD.

Other Information

This project is part of the Floyds Fork Action Plan proposed to improve sanitary sewer service in the eastern part of Jefferson County known as the Floyds Fork Watershed, a 120-square mile area named for the stream that runs through it.
