Shinks Branch Interceptor Sanitary

Customer Service: (502) 587-0603Report as of Wednesday, July 02, 2008

Project Description

This project consists of a gravity interceptor along Shinks Branch located along the southeasterly side of Gene Snyder Freeway and Taylorsville Road, east of South Chenoweth Run. The proposed 12-through 21-inch diameter interceptor would discharge into the interceptor proposed in the Billtown Road Pump Station and Force Main Project.

Need

This project provides sanitary sewer service to the Shinks Branch Basin located between South Chenoweth Run, Floyds Fork, Gene Snyder Freeway and Taylorsville Road. The project is expected to serve a present population of 407 and a saturation population of 7,422. It will allow MSD to eliminate the existing MSD Stone Lakes Pumping Station.

Other Information

This project is part of the Floyds Fork Action Plan proposed to improve sanitary sewer service in the eastern part of Jefferson County known as the Floyds Fork Watershed, a 120-square mile area named for the stream that runs through it.
