Often walks slowly when it is
hunting. Overhanging perch for prey to come close to pounce on its
prey. Often perches in trees or on shrubs. Has been seen placing food
or bait in the water deliberately
to attract fish. When disturbed often nervously flicks its short shaggy
tail and elevates the shaggy crest. The Green
Heron looks similar to a crow when it is flying.
